On this half day trip you will visit three towns in an air conditioned van with up to 8 people per group uncovering stories and places that reach deep into the Istrian Cultural and Culinary Scene.
You start in the morning hours at your acccommodation (free pick-up & drop-off) with a scenic drive along villages and vineyards to Rovinj. The guide will show you the hidden corners of Rovinj old town during a walking tour taking you all the way up to the church of the patron saint Euphemia (free entrance). From there you will have some free time to walk medieval cobbled alleys and visit hundreds of small ateliers and galleries known for great art and handmade souvenirs. After Rovinj you head for sweet little Bale. An old castle that was transformed into one of Istria’s most picturesque old towns. Here you can optionally join lunch at a legendary jazz restaurant built inside an old stone palace or walk inside the ancient walls of Bale. Afterwards you head for Vodnjan – the town of unknown treasures. Before entering the town you will have a photo stop at the “Kažun Park” to see how istrian limestone is used to build traditional istrian stone houses. Become Indiana Jones and discover the perfectly preserved christian mummies in Saint Blasius church or taste your gourmet knowledge at the high-class olive oil tasting. Otherwise, you can roam around and admire the Venetian Palaces hiding in the narrow alleys of Vodnjan. Return is in the afternoon.
