The Truffle. There is a whole industry based on this rotten-potato-looking like mushroom. Why? Because it is exclusive, you need a dog to find it and it smells like nothing you smelled before. Let us show you how they hunt it and become a Truffle Expert!
Pick-up is in the morning at your accommodation. You will drive into the central and picturesque part of Istria. Here you will meet your truffle hunter. The hunter will take you into the woods and show to you how to hunt truffles with a dog. Afterward, you are going to sit at a wooden table and enjoy a 3-course truffle lunch. Truffles everywhere. If you like you can learn about how to prepare truffles. Then, you visit the off-the-beaten-track old town of Buzet – an almost forgotten hilltop town. Before returning to your accommodation you visit Hum – probably the smallest town in the world with 24 citizens. Here, you will witness relics of a medieval Slavic script taught by Slavic monks. The Glagolitic Script. At that time, the script was a rebellion against the Vatican. Enter a tiny chapel and admire a long forgotten script that still has its followers today.

LUNCH DESCRIPTION
After coming back from the woods, you help the hunter to wash the found truffles so you have them ready to prepare the following delicacies. You will be served cold starters with 2 types of homemade cheese with truffles (cow cheese with truffles and mixed cow-sheep cheese with truffles), Istrian salami with truffles, various canapes with truffle spreads (white tartufata, truffles and olives, truffles and porcini mushrooms), extra virgin olive oil with white truffles and pear jam with truffles/olives stuffed with cheese and truffles. The cold Startes are followed by scrambled eggs with truffles. The eggs are prepared in front of you while you may join the preparations at any moment. Hence, they find out about all ingredients and the little secrets about the making of super delicious truffle dishes. Aside the scrambled eggs comes a truffle salad with Rucola, cherry tomatoes, truffle cheese, truffle oil, truffles. For dessert, you’ll get homemade cottage cheese (from a family farm in the neighboring village) topped with pear jam and black truffles or vanilla ice cream with white truffle honey. You are drinking homemade red and white wine, homemade juices, tea, and water.
