This is an organized Croatia tour package. The hotels, the transfers as well as the guided tours in some of the cities – all is arranged and double-checked by us. Our “Croatia in 5 Days” tour is the perfect choice if you want to visit the highlights of Croatia in less than a week. The program is well-balanced so we minimalized the driving and maximized the fun and the time to explore Croatia.
HIGHLIGHTS
TOUR AVAILABLE
Dates available throughout the year.
All hotels are double-checked by our Krug Travel Team. Sometimes we pick a hotel because the location is simply great and another time it is a bit further away from the old town but the atmosphere is wonderful and staying there is very pleasant. We like hotels that make you feel welcome and hopefully you will share this feeling, too. Usually, our hotels have three to four stars. Upon your request, we can upgrade the hotels to all being 5 stars.
GOOD TO KNOW: Croatia and Slovenia have great hotels and three stars aren’t regarded as a sign of low quality. Sometimes three-star hotels are better and more boutique than four-star hotels and that’s the reason why we pick them. However, we are always striving for four-stars.
All our guides and drivers are experienced and trained professionals. They take care of the organization of the trip so that you can enjoy without worrying about “getting to the places” and to bother to find the best spots. The guides will always try to create a laid-back and easy atmosphere. The goal is to travel in a friendly atmosphere rather than “touristy”. Those details are important to us and we believe that this approach makes the difference.
DAY 1 – ARRIVAL IN ZAGREB – WELCOME DRINK IN CROATIA’S CAPITAL
Welcome to Croatia! In the evening, everybody from the group meets up with the Krug host at the hotel lobby. Get to know your fellow travellers at a local bar or pub in Zagreb while discussing the itinerary together. The first drink is on us 😉
DAY 2 – ZAGREB AND OPATIJA – HEAD WEST FOR THE ADRIATIC SEA
The journey begins! Welcome to Croatia! Your host will do everything that he or she can to make this trip a memorable one for you. Today you are exploring Zagreb in the morning on a laid-back walking tour. There will be time for a coffee break, too. Then, you hit the road for the Adriatic coastline of Kvarner Bay in Opatija – a 19th-century health resort built during the reign of the Austrian Empire. This town has class, its sea breeze is healthy and the promenade is beautiful especially in the evening. Explore the town by yourself or join your host on a promenade walk to the nearby fisher village called Volosko. Probably the cutest fisher village in the world! The late afternoon and evening are on your own.

Today, you’ll see the Amphitheatre in Pula, Rovinj’s romantic old town and the ancient hilltop town called Motovun. Istria is known for world-class olive oil, fantastic wines, and the most expensive mushroom in the world – the white truffle. It would be a shame if you didn’t try all of these fine Istrian products while you are already there, right?! You’ll head back to Opatija in the late afternoon. The rest of the day is on your own.

However, there will be enough free time inside the lakes to discover them on your own pace. You can have lunch there, too, or just use the full four hours to soak in this wonderful nature experience of 16 interconnected lakes flowing through a forest. In the late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Šibenik for check-in to your hotel. Your guide knows about the fine local places to eat or just a book yourself a table in one of Croatia’s finest Michelin restaurants called Pelegrini.

DAY 5 – KRKA WATERFALLS AND SPLIT – WELCOME TO DALMATIA
Thousands and thousands of people cruise along the ocean drive called “Magistrala” from Northern to Southern Croatia every day. While you curve the coastal asphalt road from Šibenik to Split the Adriatic sea is presenting its glittering water curtain as well as untouched islands for you to enjoy the full Croatian feeling. But before going to Split, you’ll take on the second amazing nature experience on this tour – National Park Krka Waterfalls near Šibenik. Prepare for a boat ride, too. Once you arrive in Split you’ll do the Check-in and your host shows you the city a bit. In the evening you’ll meet up again for the last drink to celebrate the beauty of travel and meeting new great people. Isn’t that a great reason to celebrate? After the drink, it’s time to say goodbye because you just made it to the end of the tour.
